Bespoke Furniture Project by Boss Design

British Airways

Air travel has reached new heights thanks to two leading British brands – Boss Design and British Airways – who have come together to provide a new first-class travel experience within the airline’s executive lounges located across the globe. As part of the airline’s investment to improve customer experience in the air and on the ground, a wide range of Boss Design’s seating and table solutions have been specified to bring a high level of luxury to the stylish and contemporary lounges.

Concept

Alongside ingenious architectural touches such as illuminated glass screens, the discerning traveller can now enjoy separate spaces to dine, work, or relax in comfort and style before boarding their flight. Designed in collaboration with the BA Design Team, a comprehensive collection of bespoke seating and furniture, together with pieces from Boss Design’s standard collections, complement the airline’s new branding and lounge concepts. A key consideration in the design selection was the overall design, quality, size and finish of the products, in addition to their adaptability to some of the smaller lounges. Boss Design’s global manufacturing and distribution capabilities were also paramount.

Products

Upholstered in an assortment of leathers and fabrics, bespoke low-back and mid-back arm chairs, high wingback chairs with footstools, and dining chairs and stools adorn the sumptuous lounges. Alongside coffee tables and low metal-framed tables, travellers can now relax in opulence whilst enjoy panoramic views of the airport and city skylines. Many of the lounges also feature artwork from local and established British artists to complement this very modern British aesthetic.

The Relationship Continues

In addition to supplying seating and furniture, Boss Design has also secured a prestigious single point service agreement with the airline. Ensuring continuity and coordination, this agreement guarantees that the repair and replacement of any furniture piece will always be coordinated from one central point. Mark Barrell, Design Director at Boss Design comments: “Our close relationship with British Airways stretches back some 20 years and we are delighted to continue working with this flagship brand.”

British Airway’s global programme of new executive lounges currently extends to Amsterdam, JFK, Washington, Singapore, Heathrow and Gatwick.
