Everton Football Club

Boss Design worked together with AFL Architects based in Manchester to provide furniture for Everton Football Club’s new Family Lounge.

The club required the lounge at their Finch Farm training ground to provide a home away from home for families caught up in the demanding life of an Everton FC Academy recruit. Previously, families had to use a canteen area, where the hospitality provision was not up to the high standards provided for other visitors and users of the facility. This didn’t align with the club’s desire for everyone to belong to the wider Everton family.

Looking for a comfortable, warm and homely area that instilled that important sense of belonging, the space needed to reflect Everton’s reputation of “The People’s Club”.

To fit in with the prestige aesthetic required, Everton chose Boss Design’s iconic Kruze collection.

The Kruze armchairs and stools were upholstered in a two tone of the club’s classic Royal Blue colourway and stunning black leather. To complement this, and providing a striking look, each piece had a painted black frame finish. The furniture works perfectly in the space, offering a comfortable, relaxing space for families. Everton FC’s brand colours were reflected around the lounge using subtle touches, such as LED lighting and USB power outlets. The club’s catering staff have commented on the space’s quality, highlighting that it significantly improves their own working environment.

Clive Walters, Senior Interior Designer at AFL Architects, comments “Primarily, we focused on creating a space where families felt a sense of belonging, rather than feeling like a guest stopping by. Boss Design’s versatile Kruze collection fits effortlessly inside the space, providing optimal comfort and an elegant design feature. The result is a space that fulfils Everton FC’s promise to be the club of ambition, determination, authenticity – and family.”
