Lounge collection by Ceri Lovett
Relaxed and versatile
The early thinking behind Rosa was to create indoor seating but with the easy-going look and feel of outdoor furniture. There’s something about the versatility of terrace seating and the idea of bringing the outdoors in that we find inspiring.
As the lines between work and social spaces blur, we imagined a light, elegant design to suit an orangery at a fine hotel or the voluminous atrium of a modern corporate HQ. Further inspiration came from classic minimalism of Mies van der Rohe’s revolutionary tubular steel chairs, originally designed in the 1920s.
Refining Rosa’s flowing curves and proportions through iterative prototyping, we crafted a sublime frame that is not just light, but also exudes lightness into the space around it. The same tasteful curves continue with the seat and back cushions which are svelte and soft, alighting at a relaxed level perfect for lounge seating.

Engineered to perfection
The premium elegance of our Rosa Lounge Collection is highlighted in the fact that it has no visible fixings. With a total absence of screws, bolts or rivets, the back support appears to float lightly above the seat board – a perfect place to sit, relax and contemplate the world.
In accordance with our circular design ethos, Rosa’s clever engineering makes the furniture simple to disassemble. The back and seat easily separate from the frame and their forms make reupholstering a straightforward process. Meanwhile, the cantilever frame can be resprayed and the seating reassembled, extending Rosa’s life-cycle and making it one of the most sustainable lines in its category.
When the time comes, separating Rosa’s materials is just as simple. The steel frame can be recycled,
as can the FCS-certified plywood board while the polyurethane cushioning can be crumbled and turned into carpet underlay.
The minimal elegance of Rosa’s seat and back sections means both chair and sofa can be covered in any fabric you choose, and the tubular exoskeleton can be painted any colour.
Tan leather with a black frame gives Rosa a rich finish suitable for upmarket hospitality spaces,
while woollen fabrics are an ideal option for cosier settings. A light-coloured frame combined with a finer textile results in a sophisticated aesthetic for work environments.
This flexibility makes it easy to align Rosa seating with your brand and the atmosphere or experience you want to conjure. If you re-brand or wish to refresh your décor, we will recover and repaint Rosa’s components giving your seating a second life.
From work-focused breakout areas through to luxury hospitality spaces, Rosa brings a light, contemplative and agile touch to any setting, along with the comfort and durability Boss Design is known for.
