Amicus

Marlow, Buckinghamshire

Working in partnership with Blue Jelly, Boss recently provided furniture to Amicus Therapeutics, a global pharmaceutical company, at their new 24,000 sq ft European headquarters in Buckinghamshire. A new office was required to support the expansion of the business and its growing employee base. The brief was simple; to create a workplace that reflected the positive objectives and goals that Amicus works towards, as well as promoting their innovation and the ‘wellbeing’ nature of what the company do. Needing to be future proof, Amicus and Blue Jelly specified a range of furniture from across the Boss portfolio.

Future proof

Mango work booths are placed close by, with high surround screens, providing the ideal personal workspace solution and supporting the company’s future proofing requirements. Paired with Flamingo laptop tables, the Mango booths transform Amicus’ third spaces into practical destinations for individual focussed work.

Making every space matter

The ground floor features a large open plan work café and breakout space, featuring charming pastel shades, offering a calming and light area for employees to socialise and refuel.

Showcasing Boss Design’s latest soft seating collections, ATOM and Mango take centre stage. Three ATOM configurations with Reef and Flamingo occasional tables provide the perfect touch down space for informal meetings. Comprising of 14 individual pieces of seating, including seven high and seven low back options, ATOM makes every space matter; being able to create an infinite number of configurations suited to a broad array of environments.

Stylish and practical

Lyndon’s Agent collection has been specified throughout the work café in a stunning classic oak finish. The new Agent six leg high table, with power and data capabilities and matching stools feature in the breakout area, and benches and dining tables feature in the café. The benches have been upholstered in a wipeable faux leather finish, making the furniture stylish but also practical.

Dynamic support

On the first floor, private meeting rooms flow around the corridor. Featuring Boss Design’s Deploy and Pegasus meeting tables with power and data provision, and Trinetic task chairs that offer dynamic support without the need for manual user adjustments, the meeting rooms are perfect for different employees and visitors to use throughout the day. Technology was very important to Amicus, as they are a global company that host a lot of face to face and virtual meetings with both internal and external visitors.

Array of products

In the office space on both the first and second floors, ATOM configurations provide an informal meeting space for employees in Flow areas, with integrated power and data and a Reef table to complement. MrsManta and Happy armchairs are also used to provide a rest area away from the desks, in calming and complementary upholstery colours.

Scott Colman, Creative Director at Blue Jelly comments, “The environment has been extremely well received. In many key areas from initial arrival to department hot offices, the Boss product roll out has enhanced a very welcoming and comprehensive workplace.”

“Boss had the ideal array of products to suit our Client’s needs, from their Agent range of working tables, soft seating pieces or innovative new ATOM range their products fitted with the curvaceous interior styling and modern settings.”
