The Flower Bowl

The Flower Bowl, an extension of Preston’s Barton Grange Garden Centre, is Lancashire’s newest and most extraordinary leisure venue.

As the wave of ‘experience’ spaces continue to spread across the UK, The Flower Bowl encompasses a luxury cinema, a bowling alley with private corporate space, two golf simulators, a crazy golf course, two restaurants and even an Olympic sized curling hall.

Working directly with the owners of The Flower Bowl, Boss Design designed luxury bespoke seating for the three cinema screens and bowling alley.

Intimate and sophisticated

Named after three leading ladies and their corresponding flowers, hinting at the connection to its neighbouring garden centre, each cinema screen has its own personality, providing an intimate and sophisticated viewing experience.

Matching the styling of each screen, Boss Design provided bespoke luxury sofa-style seating, including two-seater sofas and individual armchairs, upholstered in opulent velvets and patterned fabrics.

Optimal comfort

Offering optimal comfort, each sofa and armchair has its own side table to hold drinks and snacks, as well as complementary bespoke footstools for the front row seats and matching cushions to provide the perfect finishing touch.

The ‘Elizabeth Taylor’ screen showcases a stunning rich midnight blue theme, matching a Clematis ‘Rhapsody’ flower, whilst the ‘Ingrid Bergman’ smoulders in deep plum matching a Cosmos ‘Spellbound’. The ‘Uma Thurman’ screen has a fiery orange look, corresponding to a Dahlia ‘Pulp Fiction’ flower. Mood lighting accentuates the colours and truly brings each screen to life.

Bespoke banquette seating

The bowling alley, aptly named the Copper Bowl, hosts eight lanes and a stylish bar area. Two lanes, with an exclusive lounge, can be closed off for private parties and corporate events.

Boss Design provided bespoke banquette seating for users of the bowling alley, offering optimal comfort but also practicality. The one-armed banquettes were placed back to back, upholstered in a faux leather that adds a touch of elegance to the space.

Luxury standards

The owners of The Flower Bowl worked closely with Boss’ design team to ensure that the design of the seating was entirely to their requirements. Furthermore, the upholstery selection was steered by the owners, to ensure that it met the luxury standards and styling that the spaces called for.

Angela Burke, Corporate Account Manager at Boss Design, comments, “It was a pleasure working with Guy Topping and the team at The Flower Bowl. The project is a wonderful opportunity to showcase our bespoke furniture service, and at the same time showcasing our skilled workmanship for this unique venue. The furniture works perfectly in both the cinema and the bowling alley, enhancing the quality and sophistication of the interior.”

Julia Critchley, Guest Services Manager at the Flower Bowl, adds, “Our owners scoured the world for the latest leisure trends when designing The Flower Bowl. Boss Design’s bespoke furniture fits seamlessly with the aesthetic desired for The Flower Bowl, in such a stunning and distinctive space.”
