Cotswold Motor Group - BMW / MINI

Boss Design worked with Showcase Interiors to create an enhanced customer experience at the new flagship Cotswold Motor Group BMW/MINI retail centre in Cheltenham. Being one of the largest automotive retail centres in the UK and looking after over 170 staff on site, the centre, an amalgamation of the existing Cheltenham and Gloucester retail centres, has been designed with luxury, comfort and elegance in mind.

With the four-storey facility standing on almost five acres of land, the centre consists of a showroom, workshop area, admin offices and enhanced servicing facility with a customer café. The idea was to create an experience, a destination site for people to come to. With this, the quality and design of the brand needed to be reflected throughout the building, a key factor into why Boss Design were chosen for the project.

The Brief

The brief was to create an offering for the new retail centre, keeping the prestige and notable reputation that their brands maintain across the UK and worldwide. A high-level quality of furniture was required upon entry into the retail centre. Albany armchairs by Boss Design, upholstered in a deep red and brown fabric, were specified to fit in the breakout space for the board room on the fourth floor.

Alongside this, Albany was also included for luxury and comfort for customers in the café atrium area. The aesthetics complimented the design of the café space seamlessly, with its elegant detail and soft welcoming form creating a relaxing environment.

First Class Upholstery

Several Kruze chairs with wooden legs were again upholstered in alternating deep red and brown fabrics, and were also included within the café area to compliment both the space and the other furniture. One of the key reasons Boss Design was chosen for the project was for its well-known, first class upholstery capabilities. Keeping the same fabric style yet being slightly different in design, Kruze high stools on a silver swivel base were used to prop against the bar area and selected high tables as an alternate offering to the armchair options.

Light Spacious Environment

It was important for Cotswold Motor Group to create a light spacious environment, allowing customers to feel relaxed and comfortable in their surroundings. Lounge style areas were introduced in both BMW and MINI sections of the dealership. Offering a more informal style of meeting area, several Layla armchairs were included in the space showcasing generously padded upholstery and striking stitch detail for ultimate style and comfort.
